VIVA RIVA

Recently watched the film VIVA RIVA and i loved it! an action movie set in Kinshasa, the dialogue is well written and the plot is saved from predictability by the sheer shock of some of the scenes. The best part - it's Afican! Usually internationally acclaimed African films have a serious ( read morose) heartfelt message. Whilst im not saying this film doesnt have a message i never felt like it was preaching rather just telling the story of fated Riva. The movie has it all- love, betrayal, sex, violence, friendship and redemption. if you want to be entertained catch it at a ster kinekor near you.

ps - it is in french and lingala so unless you're fluent you will be reading subtitles. dont let this deter you watch it!
